The 2017 models of  Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and Husqvarna 701 Enduro will be upgraded with a better engine, both models will be upgrading to a  690cc single-cyliner engine.
A 690cc engine like this one is seen on the latest models of  company KTM that debuted this , Ktm 690 duke.
The main focus on this upgrad is in the secondary balancing shaft which will reduce vibrations to the rider, and allows the rider to rev up to 1,000rpm more than the 2016 model.
The 2016 model reached maximun  at 7500 rpm with 49lb ft torque while the 2017 model rpm redline is up to 8000rpm with 51lb ft turque
HP statistics definitley improved obviously from 2016's model 67hp  to 2017 74HP,+6hp.
Both models of the 2017 Supermoto and Enduro meet Euro4 emission standards.
